Getting to Know the Real Tristan Moseby
If you follow politics or live anywhere in the Boston metropolitan area, 'Moseby' is a household name. Christine Moseby has been a popular politician who is up for re-election as senator in this year's election. Few people, however, have come to know her son, Tristan Moseby, outside of his political family, but, believe it or not, the 26-year-old has been dabbling in acting since he was 18 years old.

After starting off with a brief appearance on the drama "Gilmore Girls", Tristan took a break until he could get a degree in theatre from Columbia University. "Oh god, I hate when people bring up that character. They named him after me, you know? I guess it did give me my start, but it almost fucked up my college career entirely. Not that I really wanted to be at Columbia," he tells us, explaining that the 'college thing' was to appease his politcally-centered mother. "I would have much rather been making a name for myself separate from the Massachusetts democrats."

And three years later, after graduating from college, he began to do just that. While, at first, he was given walk-on and small, supporting roles, it is apparent to all that Moseby has talent, talent that far exceeds a degree from a four-year university. He is a natural. "I guess living around politicians for most of my life, pretending to be someone I'm not became a breeze, and I can actually do something with my childhood learnings with acting." Christine Moseby will not be pleased to hear that. "If my mom reads this, she won't be a happy camper. She's still mad at me for forgoing a career in politics. It's just not my thing; I get that from my dad."

"There is so much that I wish I could say about my life that I can't because it would rip my family into pieces," he explains. "Despite everything, I wouldn't trade my life for the world. I am a Democrat at heart, I swear, but I just don't flaunt it around like my family does. My view is to let people believe " what they want to believe and vote how they want to vote. We can't call ourselves a democracy if we don't, right?" He extends on that by saying he's glad for his friends and for what he has planned in the future.

For example, Moseby will be playing the villain in the highly anticipated Twilight, based on the popular teen series by Stephenie Meyer. "Oh, the film! I play James, this badass nomad vampire, who unlike the protagonists, has no qualms when it comes to feeding off humans. He makes it a game, and being a part of the that film was so much fun." When asked if he would return for the second movie if it were made, he chuckles and shakes his head, "You really haven't read the book, have you? Spoiler alert, I die."

Moseby even hints that he will be collaborating musically with a good friend of his, Adella Burnshaw. "We've talked about it, a little. I guess. It would be cool. I mean, I can sing." This much he proved to us in the internet hit, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. "But yeah, I think something may be happening with that in the coming months, or years. It's whatever fate has planned out."
