    biography
     Annica Matthews is the second eldest of Richard and Stella Matthews' four daughters. Born and raised outside of San Diego, CA, acting was never something that she particularly pictured herself doing. Many of a trip to Los Angeles as a child had actually turned her off to the idea, and Anne decided at a young age that being a doctor, just like her father, was what she wanted to do.

    Becoming a doctor, however, was not her destiny. She fully intended on majoring in medicine at UCLA, enrolled in the school and even started her first semester, but it was then that she found herself enveloped in the school's theatre program, all on a whim.

    Within a year, she'd changed majors. The medical classes were putting a strain on her, and she knew then and there that she had to do something. Her parents were surprisingly okay with her decision to move away from her father's practice, as if they'd know it wasn't what she was destined for in the first place.

    The change in major was a breath of fresh air for Anne. She excelled in her courses and was happier than she had been in years. She had something to push her forward and to motivate her to succeed. There was nothing that would stop her at this point, she was convinced of that.

    Three years after change in major, she graduated from UCLA with her film degree and immediately thrust herself into auditioning. Big roles, small roles and even commericals, she did it all. She had a few commericals under her belt before she got an actual callback. Granted, it was only a one-time guest role, but she was thrilled all the same. In the middle of filming it, she received another call about a role in a thriller called Swimfan. She began work on the movie just a month later, and it was then that she realized how much she loved the horror/sci-fi genre. Never in her life had she laughed so much!

    Anne continues acting for one reason, and that is that she loves what she does. Being known or famous isn't a factor (she actually rather hates photographers, talking in public and the like). The projects she chooses are for her reasons alone, not those of any other person. She is happy with her life, her circle of friends and everything in between. Things couldn't be better for Anne Matthews.
